Hair Restoration is a general term referring to various options and techniques of replacing lost hair. There are two main categories in Hair Restoration. These are the surgical and the non surgical.
The non-surgical techniques are usually known as Prosthetics. They refer to the use of a hair system. This is a product made of human hair, which is grafted to a man's or a woman's scalp. Today's hair replacement systems are a secure and convenient hair loss solution for those who do not opt for surgical hair restoration.
The surgical methods on the other hand, include all hair transplantation techniques that exist and evolved during the last 30 years. The most efficient techniques are those of follicular unit transplantation by which the natural hair groupings are transferred from the donor area which is usually the very back and sides of the head to the thinning or balding areas. All the details on how all these latest techniques are carried out in HDC, are explained in detail in Hair Transplant Methods section. |
